ISTA’s faculty and administration can provide information, advice and support throughout your studies.

Welcome Services

Our International Officer together with the Human Resources team are available to provide information and advice about entry, residence and employment in Austria, including visas and immigration issues.

Please get in touch with the Human Resources team at ISTA for more information on entry, residence and employment matters.

Housing is available on the ISTA campus. Single students as well as couples/families are welcome to stay in one of our over 100 residences.

There is also a “buddy system” for all incoming students whereby each new student is paired up with one of our current graduate students. Buddies are volunteers who will try their best to help you settle in and find you way around the campus.

Academic Support Services

Faculty representatives are ready to provide resources for you to learn and grow at ISTA.

As a newly admitted student, you are assigned to a Faculty Track Representative who serves as your go-to person for all track-specific questions or issues.

Every incoming student is also assigned a mentor who can provide general advice about navigating the PhD at ISTA. Students are also encouraged to connect with their direct supervisor.

Students are always welcome to approach any of the Graduate School Office team members if they have questions about the PhD program requirements, or any other generic inquiries.

Career Development Services

With regular career talks, skills training sessions, as well as visits from industry leaders, our career development program helps our students prepare for a career in academia, industry, and other sectors.

More about Career Services.

Vlad, one of ISTA’s visit day coordinators, knew everyone who came to campus that day – their names, where they’re from, what they were interested in… this is one of the reasons why I’m here.
